He’e So Finicky

It seems as if a new obituary for the necktie is published with each passing year. But pose the question of its mortality to Anthony T. Kirby,
and you’ll come away feeling that rumors of its death have been greatly exaggerated.

“A shirt keeps your body covered, pants cover your legs, a belt holds your pants up, a jacket keeps your shirt covered, but what does a tie do? A tie is a half-yard of fabric, cut on a diagonal, wrapped however, and it just hangs on your neck. It serves no purpose. But the tie to me is the cherry on top of a gentleman’s wardrobe. It’s the completion.”

So says Anthony T. Kirby, and we couldn’t agree more.

In our Summer 2021 issue, Anthony “makes the case” for keeping the necktie around for a few more decades. Learn more about this exciting brand and about Anthony’s “case”. Download it now in our newsstand.
